Help us rebuild our neighborhood for future generations.
No matter where we live or what’s in our wallets, we deserve warm, safe homes. Yet seniors on Field Street have been without heat for at least two years, and DTE Energy performs hundreds of thousands of energy shut-offs each year to customers struggling to afford fast-rising bills. Meanwhile, the City of Detroit gave developers on Field Street $600,000 to develop new expensive condos for newcomers, while longtime residents can’t get help with home repairs.
Field Street residents are coming together to show that the community takes care of each other. Ms. Oates needs a new boiler, a new roof, new electrical wiring, and chimney repairs, so we’re taking the reins and getting to work.
If you stand with us, please come out in support. We welcome donations. Together we take care of each other.
